Phase 2 - planned extensions to the hall
Plans have been drawn up for two extensions to the village hall to provide much needed extra storage and also an extended seating area on the main hall. Since the hall has only just been finished and completion certificate has not yet been issued, Phase 2 can be considered an amendment to the original build. As such, it will give a considerable cost saving, compared with doing it in a year’s time for example. It may be possible therefore to carry out this work using the unspent contingency funds remaining after the original build.

Please note that the extensions can be constructed with minimal disturbance to usage of the hall, and breaking through can be carried out over a very short period, thus keeping the down time to a minimum. It is planned that the storage area will be unheated. The hall extension will be carpeted, and at the moment, it is planned that this will not have underfloor heating, relying on ambient heat from the main hall.
These plans are still under discussion, but a decision will need to be made soon on whether to go ahead, depending on cost estimates and of course feedback from the community. Please contact the committee if you have any comments on these proposals.
