Services

Middleton Village Hall was designed to be as flexible as possible to meet the varying needs of the community. It contains a spacious main hall (9 sq metres larger than the previous one) as well as a separate meetings room. A fully specified kitchen and bar are provided for catering purposes. Also, the hall is heated using an underfloor heating system that keeps the place warm all year round. For more details, please follow the links to the left.

Hire rates (applicable from June 1 2008)

Please note the following changes to hall hire rates. From now on, hire of the main hall will also include use of the meetings room (e.g. as cloak room) unless the meetings room is already booked. Use of the urn and microwave in the kitchen is included in room rental, but if the kitchen and/or bar facilities are required, a further charge will be payable.

Accessibility

The hall has been designed in accordance with current regulations for disabled access, including disabled toilet.

Deposit / cleaning

For most one-off hires, especially parties, we now require a £25 deposit to be paid in advance. This will be refunded if the hall is cleaned properly, otherwise we will use it (or part of the deposit) to pay for the services of a cleaner. We expect the hall to be left in a fit state for the next users. Specifically, this means 1) all waste must be deposited in appropriate bins provided (recycling bins located immediately outside the hall), 2) toilets must be left clean and all waste removed, 3) any damage / breakages must be reported to a committee member, 4) hall to be left generally clean and tidy. All these stipulations to be met by 11am on the day following the event.

Late cancellation

Please note that the £25 deposit will be retained in the event of a late cancellation, since the hall could otherwise have been let out to other users.

Booking

Please direct booking enquiries to Anne Russell, either in person during the village Post Office opening hours (Mon-Fri; 8.30am - 12 noon) at 37 Borthwick Castle Road, or by phone (01875 821014).
